Farida Sukhia
CPA, CA, CBV, CPA (Delaware)

Farida Sukhia has been a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada and the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia since 2002. She has also been a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (Delaware) since 2000. Farida obtained her CBV designation in 2007 from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators.

Farida joined Blair Mackay Mynett Valuations Inc. (“BMM”) in August 2006 and has prepared valuation reports in the context of Family Law matters, shareholder disputes, corporate reorganizations, acquisitions and divestitures and estate planning. She was also involved in the valuation of intangible assets for purchase price allocations. Some of the industries involved in those valuation assignments have included agriculture, construction, forestry, healthcare, insurance brokerage, manufacturing, professional services (accounting, engineering, legal, medical, etc.), real estate, restaurant and hospitality, retail, software, transportation and wholesale distribution.

Farida has also been involved in various litigation support services, including the quantification of income or economic loss claims and the determination of income available for child and spousal support purposes, and has given expert witness testimony in the Supreme Court of British Columbia.

Prior to joining BMM, Farida spent a year working for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (“PwC”) in their Dispute Analysis and Valuations Practice. Prior to her time in PwC’s Dispute Analysis and Valuations Practice, Farida worked in their Audit and Assurance Group for 4 ½ years. During this time, Farida gained significant experience in the high-tech sector. She also became familiar with US GAAP during a year-long secondment to San Jose, California and Houston, Texas.

Farida co-presented the course Introduction to Financial Statements for Lawyers in conjunction with the Continuing Legal Education Society of B.C. (CLEBC), and co-authored the published course notes.

From 2007 to 2015, Farida was an executive on the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators’ BC Workshop committee.
