Spencer Cotton

Spencer Cotton has been a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia since 2005. He obtained his CBV designation in 2006 from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators.
Since 2000, Spencer has worked in business and securities valuation and litigation support. He has worked for clients in a variety of industries, including forestry, mining, real estate, telecommunications, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, fuel cell development, aquaculture, engineering, hospitality, and retail. Spencer has significant experience in the valuation of intangible assets for financial reporting purposes (purchase price allocations), the valuation of intellectual property for intellectual asset management, and goodwill impairment testing.
Before joining Blair Mackay Mynett Valuations Inc., Spencer was employed with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP's Valuation and Strategy Advisory group for five years. Prior to that, he worked in the firm’s Assurance and Business Advisory Services practice, providing assurance services to public and private companies. Before joining PwC in 1998, Spencer spent five years in forestry biotechnology R&D.
